New entrant to Irish pager market offers continuity of supply to critical industrial sectors

Dunboyne, Co Meath – Tuesday 22nd March 2016: Leading two-way radio and mobile communications supplier, EMR Integrated Solutions today announced its entry to the Irish pager market, with its appointment as distributor for Swissphone’s range of pagers, pager accessories and alerting systems in the Republic of Ireland.

The deal combines EMR’s track record in delivering high performance personal mobile and two-way radio solutions to the Irish market and Swissphone’s innovative design and manufacturing capabilities in reliable alerting and work safety solutions.

“We are delighted to welcome EMR Integrated Solutions to Swissphone’s partner community and look forward to working with them in the Irish market,” said Angelo Saccoccia, CEO at Swissphone.

“There is a strong synergy between our companies and we believe that together we can provide Irish customers with superior paging products and services that will address their time-sensitive, mission-critical communications requirements,”

For the past 40 years, design excellence and commitment to product quality have been firmly rooted in the Swissphone company culture. The EMR team announcing the company's expansion to the UK market.

EMR spreads its wings and extends presence to the UK market

Dunboyne, Co Meath, Thursday, 19th November, 2015: Leading SCADA network and mobile telecommunications supplier, EMR Integrated Solutions today announced its expansion to the UK market, in a move that will take its portfolio of market-leading products and system design and engineering capabilities to the UK’s energy and water utility industries.

The development comes hot on the heels of a €1 million contract with Northern Ireland Water to upgrade the utility’s telemetry network.

EMR currently employs 22 at its base in Dunboyne, Co Meath and hopes to add to that number with the establishment of its UK base. The company specialises in designing and building wireless communication for media organisations as well as SCADA and telemetry networks for energy suppliers and water companies.

Mark Quinn, managing director with EMR believes that significant opportunity exists for his organisation to make a breakthrough into the UK, thanks to the rapidly changing nature of the utility industry there.

“Power generation and water utilities are facing a perfect storm of business challenges in terms of environmental constraints, security of supply and cost pressures. Aging network infrastructure is a burning issue for many of them but taking the right approach with the right integration partner will promote more efficient management of energy or water supply into the future,” he said.

The company’s UK headquarters will be based in Reading, a strategic location to target some of the market’s key players. A team of technical and project management professionals will support the rollout of EMR’s SCADA and network infrastructure deployments.

The UK utility industry is undergoing a period of substantial change, where many will be forced to re-examine their business models, according to Quinn.

“We believe we have the track record and expertise to generate strong return on network investment for all stakeholders and support continuity of supply,” he said.

EMR was founded in the early in 1980s and has a strong management team with a wealth of industry experience. The company has some of Ireland’s strongest brands on its books including ESB, Eir, RTÉ NL, Virgin Media and many of the country’s county councils.

EMR continues drive towards better water quality with launch of chlorine residual analysis solution

Leading SCADA network and mobile telecommunications supplier, EMR Integrated Solutions today continued its drive towards better water quality with the launch of a high performance chlorine residual analysis solution for the water industry.

ChlorNet, available exclusively through EMR in Ireland, enables quick, accurate, real-time chlorine residual measurement in the water distribution network as well as at distribution sites such as reservoirs and booster stations.

Unlike hand-held chlorine residual analysers which typically provide sporadic data based on spot checks, ChlorNet sits at the tail end of the water distribution network and delivers continuous, real time analysis allowing water service providers to determine the correct chlorine dosage for the water supply.

Data collected by ChlorNet can also be fed back into the SCADA network providing operators with a dashboard view of real-time chlorine residual levels.

Commenting on the launch, Brian Martin, director of sales for SCADA, Telemetry and Instrumentation with EMR said:

“ChlorNet represents the second launch in as many months, of solutions designed to deliver better water quality and lower operational costs. With such a high level of focus on water quality, we will continue to bring to market solutions that help service providers deliver on their public commitments in a way that makes economic sense and generates real return on investment.”

Incorrect chlorine dosage in the drinking water supply could pose a public safety risk and the Environmental Protection Agency has set down strict standards around chlorine residual that must be available to protect against harmful bacteria.

Chlornet, follows the launch of NephNet, the most accurate and reliable turbidity sensor on the market. NephNet is a portable, battery-operated monitor, which offers months of continuous, accurate readings at low levels. NephNet is also available exclusively through EMR.

EMR’s managing director, Mark Quinn today presented to over 40 delegates at a major UK water industry conference.

The conference, entitled ‘Water: Process Control and Automation Engineering for the Water Industry’ and organised by the Institution of Engineering and Technology is one of the most important events in the UK water industry’s calendar.

At a dedicated workshop, facilitated by the organisers, Mark presented on the future of digital polling radio in the UK utility water sector. He explored many aspects of the topic including next generation telemetry network and the drivers for change, the challenges of existing technologies and architecture, designing the engineer-led solution, RF network planning and engineering and managing the migration process.

Commenting on the session, Mark said: “It was clear from the level of engagement from delegates that many utilities are struggling with the question of managing and future-proofing their telemetry networks. As IP networks gather pace, many utilities are faced with issues around protecting existing network investment and preparing the ground for future technology developments.”
