UniCAS earns EMR a place on the Renewable Energy Awards 2026 shortlist

EMR Integrated Solutions has been shortlisted for the Renewable Energy Innovation Award at the Renewable Energy Awards 2026, with the nomination centred on UniCAS, the company’s purpose-built OT cybersecurity and secure communications platform for wind and solar farm assets.

The shortlisting follows an independent evaluation by a panel of expert judges and places UniCAS among the leading innovations in Ireland’s renewable energy sector.

Developed by EMR’s engineering team to address a gap that generic IT security tools have consistently failed to fill, UniCAS secures the operational technology networks that underpin renewable energy generation at field level, governing third-party access through Zero Trust principles, providing real-time monitoring through EMR’s Network Operations Centre, and supporting asset managers on their journey towards NIS2 compliance.

The platform is deployed across wind and solar assets in Ireland, the United Kingdom, Italy, and the Netherlands, and is in active managed service across sites spanning multiple asset managers and O&M providers.

It was built specifically for the OT environment, where field assets from multiple manufacturers sit alongside CCTV systems, telecoms hardware, and third-party access points, and where the consequences of a security failure extend beyond data loss to operational downtime and potential grid impact.

The awards, now in their second year, celebrate the people, projects, and organisations transforming Ireland’s energy future. The Renewable Energy Innovation Award specifically recognises breakthrough technologies that improve how renewable energy is generated, integrated, managed, or optimised.

The Renewable Energy Awards 2026 are hosted by Ivan Yates and are a joint initiative of Wind Energy Ireland and Solar Ireland. The ceremony takes place on 26 November at the Dublin Royal Convention Centre.
