Derek Glynn will present at Solarplaza Asset Management Europe

EMR to Showcase Cybersecurity Solutions at Solarplaza Asset Management Europe

EMR Integrated Solutions will exhibit and present at next month’s Solarplaza Summit Asset Management Europe, demonstrating the company’s UniCAS cybersecurity platform specifically designed for solar asset managers and operators.

The Irish-headquartered firm will maintain an exhibition presence throughout the summit whilst Chief Operating Officer Derek Glynn delivers a keynote presentation on Day 1. His 20-minute session, “Cybersecurity in renewables: What predictions and risks should you prepare for?” will examine mounting security challenges alongside Stephen Parsons from VISO.

EMR’s exhibition stand will showcase UniCAS, a unified secure communications platform that addresses the cybersecurity challenges facing renewable energy asset managers. The solution consolidates site access control for operations and maintenance teams, telecoms providers, CCTV suppliers, and equipment manufacturers whilst supporting NIS2 compliance.

“Asset managers often inherit a plethora of hardware devices from different manufacturers with different configurations and security policies,” explained Derek Glynn.  “UniCAS standardises security protocols across entire portfolios, replacing existing site routers with data centre-managed firewalls that provide zero inbound public internet access.”

EMR recently deployed the solution across Schroders Greencoat’s solar farms throughout the United Kingdom, delivering what Asset Director Adriano Tortora described as “pro-active cyber security management” addressing governance and compliance challenges.

Glynn’s presentation will explore inadequate security controls, resource constraints, and evolving regulatory frameworks including NIS2. The session promises practical insights through real-world case studies, drawing on EMR’s experience securing critical infrastructure for major solar operators.

Summit visitors can discuss specific cybersecurity requirements for solar installations directly with EMR specialists at the company’s exhibition stand.

The Solarplaza Summit Asset Management Europe brings together renewable energy asset managers, operators, and technology providers. This year’s programme emphasises maximising asset performance whilst managing emerging risks including cybersecurity threats that have disrupted energy supplies across Europe in recent incidents.

Registration details are available through the Solarplaza website.

EMR to Showcase Secure Comms Solutions at Solar Ireland 2025

EMR Integrated Solutions will demonstrate how unified, secure communications platforms are transforming renewable energy asset management at this year’s premier solar industry event

EMR Integrated Solutions, a leading provider of secure operational technology (OT) networks and SCADA solutions, will be exhibiting at Solar Ireland 2025 on 2nd October at the RDS Dublin. The company will showcase its UniCAS platform, a unified, secure communications solution designed specifically for renewable energy asset managers operating solar and wind farms across Ireland and the UK.

Addressing Critical Infrastructure Challenges

Solar Ireland 2025, themed “Advancing Towards Net Zero,” brings together key stakeholders to discuss the latest trends, challenges, and opportunities shaping Ireland’s renewable energy sector. As the country accelerates towards its climate commitments, the need for robust, secure communications infrastructure has become paramount for renewable energy operators.

“Asset managers are facing increasing pressure to maintain secure, compliant operations whilst managing multiple service providers across distributed renewable energy estates,” said Dominic Crudden, business development manager with EMR Integrated Solutions.

“UniCAS addresses these challenges by providing a single, unified platform that consolidates communications, enhances security, and reduces operational complexity.”

UniCAS: Purpose-Built for Renewable Energy

UniCAS (Unified Communications and Access System) has been specifically designed to meet the unique requirements of renewable energy asset managers. The platform provides standardised control, secure access, and supports NIS2-compliant security for communication networks at solar and wind farms, allowing operators to consolidate and control access for operations and maintenance (O&M) teams, telecoms providers, data providers, CCTV systems, and other third parties.

Key benefits of the UniCAS platform include:

  • Enhanced Security: Zero-trust principles with no inbound public internet access, protecting against unauthorised access attempts and advanced malware
  • Regulatory Compliance: Supports NIS2-compliant security framework with standardised technology and security policies across all sites
  • Cost Optimisation: Consolidation of telecoms service providers through pooled data plans and carrier-agnostic LTE connectivity
  • Operational Efficiency: Simplified onboarding and offboarding of O&M teams and third-party service providers
  • Maximum Uptime: High-speed, high-performance connectivity with high-availability access gateways ensuring uninterrupted data flow to centralised SCADA systems

Proven Track Record

EMR’s expertise in secure communications for renewable energy has been validated through successful deployments across the sector. The company recently upgraded the cyber security and communications infrastructure at solar farms managed by Schroders Greencoat across the United Kingdom, delivering a resilient, secure cellular network that ensures maximum network uptime.

Supporting Ireland’s Solar Growth

Ireland’s solar sector continues to experience significant growth as the country works towards its renewable energy targets. The government’s commitment to achieving net-zero emissions has created unprecedented opportunities for solar development, but also highlighted the critical importance of robust infrastructure to support these installations.

“As Ireland’s solar capacity expands, the communications infrastructure supporting these assets must be equally robust and secure,” continued Dominic Crudden. “UniCAS provides asset managers with the confidence that their operations are protected, compliant, and optimally managed.”
